New Education facility opens its doors

The new Liverpool Education and Research Centre is now operational and has welcomed its first visitors. Located on the hospital’s eastern campus, the facility provides a practical learning environment and will serve as a temporary building for students and staff to complete their training for the next six years, while main works on the Liverpool Health and Academic Precinct are underway.

The hospital’s Thomas and Rachel Moore Education Centre, which previously housed the education facilities, will soon be demolished as part of the main works stage of the redevelopment project.

The District’s next generation of frontline medical staff were among the first to experience the new space and its dedicated simulation centre as part of Intern Orientation in mid-January, kicking off a full program of training and events for the year.

The building also houses administrative offices for UNSW, Western Sydney University and our Research and Ethics team. The new facility is accessed via the pedestrian link bridge from Liverpool Hospital main campus to eastern campus.
