New car park artwork installation complete

Visitors to Liverpool Hospital are now greeted by a colourful welcome, with the largest artwork installation by NSW Health now complete.

First nations artist Biba Barba, who designed the mass-scale artwork, in collaboration with Aboriginal Elders, services, community members and project architects Fitzpatrick + Partners, recently visited the car park construction site to catch a behind-the-scenes glimpse of the artwork being installed.

The grounds coordinator demonstrated how each of the 1790 petals were installed on the façade by specialised high-access experts using the help of professional design software. The petals represent the rich Aboriginal and cultural history of the Liverpool region and form part of a broader arts and culture strategy for the hospital redevelopment.
