New courtyard a haven of peace
New courtyard a haven of peace
A beautiful new birthing unit courtyard at Liverpool Hospital will create an environment of peace and relaxation for women and their families during one of the most special times of their lives.
The private courtyard will open as part of the new and expanded birthing unit, a key feature of the Liverpool Health and Academic
Precinct redevelopment of the hospital.
The hospital’s midwives put on their hard hats and inspected the new outdoor area, giving it their seal of approval.
“The team are so pleased with this amazing new courtyard,’’ Acting Birthing Unit Midwifery Unit Manager Marijana Radovic said.
“It will be valued by patients and families who need a breath of fresh air, some sunshine, or just a moment to themselves in a calm space.’’
The courtyard’s garden beds are filled with 164 trees and shrubs, with over 40 per cent native to Australia.
