Liverpool Hospital celebrates construction milestone

Liverpool Hospital is celebrating the completion of its new Integrated Services Building, the centrepiece of the first stage of the $830 million Liverpool Health and Academic Precinct.

Premier Chris Minns, Health Minister Ryan Park and Liverpool MP Charishma Kaliyanda joined SWSLHD Board Member Professor Jill White AM, Chief Executive Sonia Marshall PSM, Liverpool Hospital General Manager Scott McGrath and executive leaders from Health Infrastructure and Health Pathology for a tour of the new multi-storey building.

Staff and patients will progressively move into the new building in the coming weeks.

Ms Marshall congratulated the many teams involved in the completion of the impressive new building, which includes the new and expanded Neonatal Intensive Care and Birthing Units and the new centralised Pathology Department.

“The Liverpool Health and Academic Precinct redevelopment is creating a hub for innovation and medical research to provide a world-class working environment for our highly skilled clinicians and staff,” Ms Marshall said.

Work on Stage 2 of the hospital’s redevelopment will start later this year.
