Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Multi-faith Blessing
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Multi-faith Blessing
Liverpool Hospital’s new Neonatal Intensive Care Unit has received a multifaith blessing to help protect and welcome its tiniest patients.
The blessings were conducted by religious leaders including representatives from the Roman Catholic, Buddhist, Hindu, and Islamic faiths.
South Western Sydney Local Health District’s Acting Aboriginal Services Director Jemma Milloy also performed a beautiful water cleansing ceremony. The multifaith blessing brought our community together, allowing staff and patients to acknowledge the diverse cultures of our community.
“This ceremony is essential to making sure our community feels safe, welcomed, and protected during their stay in the new NICU,” Liverpool Hospital General Manager Scott McGrath said.
“We are extremely grateful our First Nations and multifaith leaders could conduct this beautiful ceremony, and we look forward to welcoming our staff and patients into this wonderful new space.”
