First concrete pour marks a new milestone

It is the first of six pours needed to complete the ground floor that will be home to the future expansion of the Emergency Department (ED).

Staff and patients will soon begin to see a building rise from the Liverpool Hospital construction site with more than 25 pours scheduled throughout the next nine months.

Director of Emergency Medicine Alex Mackey said the first slab was an exciting milestone for the Emergency Department team and in the construction of the new hospital building.

“Our Emergency Department will almost double in size and we will be providing the best care for our community with new state-of-the-art facilities,” Mr Mackey said.
