Demolition works in progress
Demolition works in progress
Here’s three sustainable fun facts you should know about the demolition of the former P2 car park.
Approximately 97% of the car park will be recycled and repurposed to create new products for use on farms for pig pens or chicken coops.
The concrete pulverizers used to demolish the structure have a crushing force of 50 tonne, which is equivalent to the bite strength of 25 crocodiles.
At the recycling centre, the concrete waste will be crushed, screened, and cleaned where it will be distributed for various uses such as drains, pavements, road bases and concrete mulch.
The former P2 car park will develop into ground level public parking and will become an additional entrance point into the new P2 multi-storey car park.
