Liverpool Hospital

Liverpool Hospital is a major health service in south western Sydney and is among the busiest in the state.

It provides a range of statewide services in critical care and trauma, neonatal intensive care and brain injury rehabilitation. This is in addition to world class diagnostic and imaging services, maternity, paediatric, cancer care, mental health, ambulatory care, allied health, as well as medical and surgical services.

It is an exciting time for the local community with the NSW Government investing $790 million for the redevelopment of Liverpool Hospital. As one of the state’s biggest infrastructure projects, the Liverpool Health and Academic Precinct (Liverpool Hospital redevelopment project) will boost the local economy and showcase Liverpool Hospital to the world as a hub for innovation and medical research. Liverpool Hospital is a principal referral and teaching hospital of the University of NSW and Western Sydney University.

South western sydney local health district

The District covers seven rapidly growing local government areas, from Bankstown to Wingecarribee, and is expected to increase to over 1.17 million people by 2026. It covers both rural and suburban communities and manages six acute public hospitals – Bankstown-Lidcombe, Bowral & District, Campbelltown, Camden, Fairfield and Liverpool.

Almost $3 billion has been invested into South Western Sydney Local Health District hospitals to transform the provision of care to the community.

The hospital redevelopments provide expanded clinical services, integrated with research and teaching and will give our world-renowned clinicians and health experts the opportunity to innovate and drive global advancements in health.
